Jodell “Jodi” Derry, age 70 of Normal, IL passed away at 12:40pm on Monday, September 4, 2017 at her home. A celebration of life will be held at Eastview Christian Church on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11am. Pastor Amy Arnold will be officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to her son, Rodney Hagar, for funeral expenses. Jodi was born April 20, 1947 in Normal, IL. the daughter of Jim and Mae Kiper. She married Roger Hagar in 1964 and later married Robert Derry in 1999. Her spouse, Robert Derry, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kim Hagar and spouse Kim Lorenz, Schererville, IN., a son, Rodney Hagar, Bloomington, IL., a step daughter, Marsha Miller, Dunlap, IL., a step son, Rodney Derry, Peoria, IL. and a step granddaughter, Kayleigh Miller. Jodi was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and a daughter in law. Jodi had a love for helping others and that showed in her most recent care for Ralph and Nola and Ken and Margaret. She also enjoyed volunteering at Eastview’s food pantry and playing scrabble with her friends at the Activity and Recreation Center for Seniors.  The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Advocate Bromenn Hospice, especially RN Liz and CNA Lizzie, and Eastview Christian Church for all of their support during Mom’s courageous battle with cancer.
